Facebook is speeding up content promoting the Taliban from its platform after the Taliban captured Afghan politics. A Facebook Inc executive said the company is actively removing content promoting the Taliban from its platform. Adam Mosseri, head of Facebook's photo-sharing app Instagram, said in an interview with Bloomberg Television on Monday that the Taliban is on the company's list of fierce organizations and hence any content promoting or representing the group has been banned.

At the same time, Moseri said, "We are confident of a policy that can actively remove what is frightening or whatever is associated with the Taliban. He further said that now this situation is growing rapidly, and at the same time, I am confident that the risk will also increase. What we do has to be modified and we have to see how we respond to this growing problem." Thousands of people has been trying to flee Afghanistan since Taliban fighters captured the capital of Kabul.

On Monday, the US said it was taking steps to secure the airport and evacuate the American people, as well as local employees and their families. The case came after US-backed President Ashraf Ghani escaped from the country and the Taliban said it would soon declare a new "Islamic Emirate of Afghan" after seizing the presidential palace.
