The facelift variant of KIA's most successful vehicle in India, the Seltos SUV, is apparently in the works. The Kia Seltos SUV, which was first introduced in 2019, is slated for a mid-life facelift and might be offered in India next year. According to spy shots, Kia is already testing the facelifted Seltos in its native country of South Korea.

The Seltos are seen wrapped in black camouflage with only the windscreen and windows exposed, as well as a glimpse of the LED headlights peeking through the wrap. The Kia Seltos is the Korean auto maker's best-selling model in India. In the first eleven months of this year, Kia has sold 48,315 units. Kia has sold 96,932 Seltos by the year 2020.

The spy photos show a test mule sporting Kia's distinctive camouflage. The new Seltos' grille will most certainly be improved, although the distinctive tiger-nose element may remain. The LED headlamp unit, on the other hand, appears to be undergoing some alterations. It might have the same headlamp components as the Carens, the Korean brand's new three-row offering in India. With a new set of taillights, the same changes may be expected in the back.

The alloy wheels, which are also seen in spy images, have a design that is identical to that of current versions. However, it's not impossible that Kia will change the wheel design as manufacturing progresses.

In regards of the inside, Kia is expected to include additional connected car capabilities in the new Seltos. The infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster may be inspired by the Carens, which appear to be more futuristic than other Kia units seen in India.

In its new incarnation, the new Seltos is expected to forego the diesel engine. According to speculations, Kia may introduce a hybrid version of the Seltos that would use the same powertrain as the Niro hybrid model, which was just debuted. With a combined output of 140 horsepower and 265 Nm peak torque, the 1.6-liter petrol engine is linked to an electric motor. However, it is unknown whether Kia would also deliver the hybrid vehicle to India.

Apart from the hybrid, the 2022 Kia Seltos is expected to be powered by the same gasoline engines as present versions. In India, Kia provides three different powerplant options for the Seltos. A 1.5-litre petrol and a diesel engine are available in addition to the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. A 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, a 7-speed automatic, or an iMT gearbox perform the transmission duties.

The new-generation Seltos SUV is likely to be unveiled early next year by Kia. In the second half of 2022, the launch is planned to take place.
