New Delhi: Since Kangan's statement on the country's independence, radical and liberal groups have demanded that Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's Padma shri be revoked. In the meantime, a tweet in the President's name has gone popular on social media. It discusses Kangana Ranaut's decision to decline the Padma Shri award.

"Kangana Ranaut's words are hurting the country's sentiments," President Ram Nath Kovind said in a tweet. I'm embarrassed to have handed him the Padma Award. My government has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting that I be allowed to withdraw the honour. The question is whether or not President Ram Nath Kovind actually tweeted and requested that Kangana revoke her Padma Shri award. Please tell us the truth about this.
The post, in fact, came from a bogus Twitter account with a name that sounded similar to the President's. Users on social media are also posting a screenshot of the tweet as if it were true. Both the account and the tweet in the name of the President are false, and they are requesting permission from Prime Minister Modi to remove Kangana's Padma Shri award. The Twitter account has since been deactivated. When the President's official Twitter handle was examined to see if the tweet had been shared on social media, it was discovered that the post had not been circulated.

The fake account made in the president's name does not have a blue tick next to his name, although his actual account does. At the same time, the account name's spelling is incorrect. Prasident of India is written instead of President of India. The President's Twitter username, however, is @rashtrptibhvn rather than @rashtrapatibhvn.
