KIEV: As Moscow continues its invasion of Kiev, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that he is ready for discussions with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, but warned that failure to do so would result in a "third World War."

"I'm prepared to negotiate with him. I had been preparing for the last two years. And I believe that without negotiations, we would be unable to stop this war "Zelensky stated this to  Cable News Network, on Sunday night. "I believe that we must use whatever format or opportunity to have a chance of negotiating with or talking to Putin. However, if these attempts fail, it will indicate that we are in the midst of a third World War "He said.

As the invasion approached its one-month mark, the President said that "We have always insisted on bargaining. We have always advocated for communication and peaceful solutions ". "And I want everyone, especially in Moscow, to hear me today. It's time to get together. It's time to chat. It is time to restore Ukraine's territorial integrity and fairness." Zelensky also stated his aims for the discussions as "the end of the war, security guarantees, sovereignty, territorial integrity restoration, real guarantees for our country, real protection for our people."  The Ukrainian leader went on to say that if his country had been a member of NATO, there would have been no conflict.
