On Thursday, Hyderabad Police cracked a fake medical registration certificate scam and arrested three people, including a member of the Telangana State Medical Council.

According to police, the Telangana State Medical Council found that some non-qualified doctors illegally got fake medical registration certificates using the numbers of real qualified doctors' registration numbers during their data verification. The State Medical Council then requested that the matter be investigated by the police.

Kandukuri Anantha Kumar, a senior assistant at the Telangana State Medical Council, and two others, Kasaramoni Sivanand and Thota Dilip Kumar, were apprehended for obtaining fraudulent medical registration certificates.

Kasaramoni Sivanand and Thota Dilip Kumar, according to AR Srinivas, Additional Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, are family friends who completed their MBBS in China in 2012.
