Guwahati: Swati Bidhan Barua, chairperson of the Transgenders Welfare Board, Assam, alleged that some fake transgenders entered Guwahati and started living. The chairperson demanded the arrest of fake transgender people who have entered Guwahati as well as Assam and harass the common people. In a press meet, board chairperson Swati Bidhan Barua demanded to investigate the matter and arrest him.
He said, these are fake transgenders who came from outside. He is accompanied by his family and children. These fake transgender people harass people in public places,” the chairperson said. Barua said, “This is a very serious matter. We appeal to the people of our community to unite against fake transgenders. These fake transgenders may be involved in illegal drug trafficking or other crimes.
Earlier last night a couple from Lakhimpur in Paltan Bazar of Guwahati was allegedly attacked by a group of Hijra (third gender). Moreover, the couple eventually had to resort to Paltan Bazar police station for help. In a video going viral on the internet, it can be seen and heard that eunuchs are reprimanding someone else. On the other hand, a woman is heard saying that she was physically assaulted.
