Keshkal: Due to lack of gunny bags in the procurement centers, farmers' anger has erupted once again. Angry farmers once again blocked National Highway-30 on Tuesday whose road has been closed from Jagdalpur to Narayanpur and Kanker. Due to this, a long line of vehicles was installed in Keshkal Ghat. Farmers have started demonstrations on Kokori on Kondagaon-Narayanpur National Highway.

Amidst the protest, school buses and ambulances were allowed to go. The police had to do lathi charge at around 8 pm to clear the jam.

Only 2 days are left for the paddy purchase to end, but the purchase is getting affected due to the problem of gunny at the procurement centers. On Monday, farmers had demonstrated in 6 procurement centers, on the second day. Farmers came out on the streets from 4 procurement centers on Tuesday. In the meantime, he also did a check-up. On Tuesday, the procurement could not be done due to a lack of gunny bags in 15 procurement centers of the district. The District Marketing Officer has told how long the gunny will come, they also cannot tell. The target of purchasing 26.50 lakh quintals of paddy was set in the district this year so that more 26.85 lakh quintals of paddy has been purchased. Still, 10,609 farmers' paddy is yet to be purchased. If registered, then out of 75,385, only 64,776 farmers have been able to sell their paddy.
