New Delhi: Politics has been hot in the entire country over the three important bills brought by the Modi government of the Center with the aim of making agriculture profitable. After the opposition of the bill, now the streets have started appearing. Several farmer organizations, including the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), have announced to block 25 September across the country.
The Bharat Bandh called by farmers' organizations is getting the support of various political parties involved in the opposition. Rakesh Tikait, a spokesperson of Bhakiyu and farmer leader of Uttar Pradesh, said that there will be a blockade on 25 September in the entire country to protest against the agricultural bills, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Karnataka and almost the whole country. Peasant organizations will rise above their ideologies and come together.
Farmers' organizations have demanded the Central Government to make legal provisions to guarantee the minimum support price (MSP) of the withdrawing crops, terming these bills as anti-farmer and corporate benefiting. He says that the government has not taken the consent of the farmers on the bills. On Wednesday, a meeting with farmers in Moga, Punjab has been prepared on behalf of Bhakiyu.
