New Delhi: A huge panchayat of farmers protesting against agricultural laws is going to be organized. Farmers of about 10 Khap Panchayats will gather at UP Gate on Thursday. A strategy will be chalked out to strengthen the movement by organizing a large panchayat of Khap led by Naresh Tikait, the national president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU). It is also being told that once again, by going on hunger strike, they will put their demands before the government.

Significantly, thousands of farmers in Punjab, Haryana and elsewhere have been protesting at various borders in Delhi, including Singhu and Tikri, for nearly three weeks, demanding the withdrawal of the three agricultural laws of the Central government. The women arrived at the protest site near the Delhi border with a photograph of male members of the house who committed suicide due to being trapped in a debt trap on Wednesday.

While giving information, Haridan Kaur Bindu, vice-president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ujjran), said that about 700-800 women, whose family members had committed suicide due to agricultural loans, participated in the demonstration. They told that these women came from different districts of Punjab including Mansa, Bathinda, Patiala and Sangrur. Bindu claimed, 'We want to underline that with the new agricultural laws, the cases of suicide by farmers in the state can increase further. These laws are not in the interest of the farming community and will destroy the agricultural sector. '
