The meeting between the Indian Government and the farmers union on Tuesday did not end the protest. The farmer's union rejected the government's proposal to form a committee to study completely the three contentious farms laws during the talks called by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Tuesday with an aim to resolve the issues raised by agitating farmers. More than 32 farmer union leaders participated in the 3 hour meeting led by Agriculture Minister Tomar and Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Consumer Affairs and Food & Public Distribution on the  sixth day of the ongoing farmers' protest.

Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Roop Singh Sanna told reporters that the government proposed to form a committee to study and discuss issues related to the three farm laws enacted in September during Monsoon Session of Parliament. The farmers' leader, shared inputs received from its union members attending the farmers-ministers meeting at Vigyan Bhawan, said the government offered to select four-five members from farmers association to form the committee that includes some government members. He said that all the "union leaders unanimously rejected" the government's offer.

"Forming a committee is an attempt to postpone the issue. We are not ready to accept government's offer," said Sanna. However, the government is holding its decision of proceeding with the farm laws which farmers allege are "anti-farm" and "black laws". Post meeting, Chanda singh, Member of Farmers' Delegation who met Union Agriculture Minister in Delhi today said Our movement against Farm Laws will continue & we'll definitely take back something from the Govt, be it bullets or a peaceful solution. We'll come back for more discussions with them. On the other side, Union minister said the meeting was good and talk will be held again on December 3.
