New Delhi: The National Conference (NC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) have decided to contest the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections together. Both the parties on Monday said that the Gupkar Manifesto Alliance (PAGD) will jointly contest the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Let us know that both PDP and NC are the major constituent parties of PAGD.

NC chief and PAGD president Farooq Abdullah said, "We will fight the elections together. There is a political party which has said that it has left the alliance. But the reality is that they were never part of the alliance. They came to break us from within.'' At the same time, PDP supremo and former CM Mehbooba Mufti also said a similar thing. "We intend to contest the elections together because it is the desire of the people that we should try together to restore our lost dignity.''

Farooq Abdullah, in response to a question, said the government can hold elections whenever it wants. He said that even when there was a flood, elections were held. So why can't there be an election now? The question is how they want to contest the election. Recently, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had said that elections can be held soon in the state, after which the political turmoil in the Valley increased.
