Farooq Abdullah Warns of Kashmir's Gaza-like Fate Without India-Pakistan Talks: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Farooq Abdullah, issued a stark caution on Tuesday, suggesting that the Union Territory might witness a scenario akin to Gaza if political dialogue between India and Pakistan remains dormant.

Drawing parallels with the ongoing conflict between Gaza and Israel, Abdullah emphasized the urgent need for leaders from both countries to engage in dialogue to resolve bilateral issues.

Quoting the late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's words on the significance of fostering friendly relations with neighboring countries, Abdullah stressed the mutual progress that could stem from such amity.

Pointing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stance against war and his emphasis on resolving matters through dialogue, Abdullah questioned the absence of a constructive dialogue despite Pakistan's expressed readiness for talks.

He cautioned, "If we fail to seek resolution through dialogue, Kashmir may confront a fate akin to the relentless bombardment faced by Gaza and Palestine from Israel."

Abdullah's remarks follow a recent terror attack in the Poonch sector that claimed the lives of four Indian soldiers. Notably, historical events such as Vajpayee's visit to Pakistan preceding the Kargil War and PM Modi's surprise meeting with Nawaz Sharif in 2015 have also been referenced in the context of diplomatic engagements.

Persistent efforts by Pakistan to infiltrate Indian territories with terrorists have strained relations between the two nations. Events like the traumatic 26/11 Mumbai attacks continue to evoke deep-seated emotions among Indians.

Tensions notably escalated after the revocation of Article 370 in 2019, further souring relations between India and Pakistan.
