Lucknow: In a tragic incident on Thursday, one person lost their life, and seven others sustained injuries in a collision involving multiple vehicles on the Purvanchal Expressway. The mishap occurred due to dense fog, severely impacting visibility on the expressway. The local Station House Officer (SHO) in Gosaiganj reported that the authorities were alerted about the accident around 7:30 am, prompting an immediate response for rescue operations.

The collision involved a total of eight vehicles, including a container, truck, and bus, which collided due to the challenging low visibility conditions caused by the dense fog. The impact of the collision resulted in multiple injuries among the passengers and drivers of the involved vehicles.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, and all the injured individuals were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for medical attention. Unfortunately, despite the medical efforts, one young man succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead by the hospital authorities.

As of now, an ongoing investigation is being conducted to determine the exact circumstances leading to the collision. Authorities are working to gather more details about the incident. The adverse weather conditions, particularly the dense fog, are believed to have played a significant role in the tragic collision on the Purvanchal Expressway.
