A major update has been revealed for IPL 2024, as several rounds may take place this time due to the upcoming elections. The schedule for the first round of the tournament could be released in multiple segments soon. The 24th season of the IPL is set to commence on March 22, with the BCCI working on the schedule while keeping the general elections in mind.

Arun Dhumal, the Chairman of IPL, stated, "We are working on the schedule, and we will soon announce the schedule for the first round (within 10-15 days). After that, the announcement for the remaining dates will follow." Dhumal added, "We are in contact with the government; our discussions have already taken place, and we will re-engage soon. The announcement will be made shortly. Since the election schedule will be revealed later, we need to start the initial matches. Therefore, the announcement for some matches will be made soon. Once the election dates are confirmed, the matches will be organized accordingly." Dhumal confirmed, "If you ask me, I can provide tentative dates, starting from March 22, and the final match will be on May 26."

The schedule for the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 has already been released. The opening match will feature last year's champions, Mumbai Indians, facing off against Delhi Capitals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. The first match is scheduled for February 23, and the final will take place in Delhi on March 17. WPL 2024 will consist of a total of 22 matches, with the top team proceeding directly to the final, and the teams in second and third place competing in the eliminator.

The final match is set to be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on March 17, with all matches starting at 7:30 PM. The eliminator is scheduled for March 15. Similar to the previous season, WPL will not follow a home-away format. However, in the next season, the tournament will be played in two cities, Delhi and Bangalore.
