HYDERABAD: In two separate incidences in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, parents rode two-wheelers to carry their children's bodies after authorities allegedly failed to arrange the ambulances.

Both accidents happened on Monday in Machilipatnam and Khammam.

In Telangana's Khammam town, a tribal couple rode 68 kilometres on a motorcycle while carrying the body of their three-year-old daughter.

On a two-wheeler, Vetti Malla and Adi carried the body of their daughter Sukki from Khammam to their hometown of Kothamedepalli in the Enkoor mandal.

While receiving care at the Khammam headquarters hospital, the girl died from fever and fits, and her parents lacked the money to hire an ambulance.
The girl's parents claimed that no compassion was shown by the hospital staff. The father of the child rushed to his hometown for assistance after the medical officials failed to send an ambulance to move the body. The child's parents transported the body to their hamlet on a motorcycle that was given by one of the residents.

The body of a 14-year-old child was carried on a two-wheeler by his father and another relative in the second occurrence that happened in the town of Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh. Golla Naveen, 14, drowned on Sunday at Manginapudi beach while swimming with his companions. At the village of Satrampalem, his body was discovered on the shore on Monday.

Naveen's father Nagraju and maternal uncle Bala Krishna transported the body on a two-wheeler to the district hospital morgue after the officials allegedly still did not arrive after an hour.

Local officials, however, saud that the body was shifted without informing them.
