In Jalandhar's village Cheema Khurd, a person committed suicide by drinking poison to his two innocent children. He took this step due to a rift with his wife. The trio was referred to Goraya's government then to DMC Hospital in Ludhiana. All three lost their lives there. Police took the bodies of the three and sent them for postmortem.

The deceased has been identified as Kehar Singh and two children, 11-year-old girl Prabhjot and nine-year-old Ekam. In the preliminary investigation of the police, it has been found that there was a rift with Kehar Singh's wife, due to which she had gone to the maiden one and a half months ago. After the Panchayati Rajiname, Kehar Singh also went to the village of Tagga village to take her one day. But the wife refused to come. After this, Kehar Singh started feeling frustrated and upset and took a frightening step on Friday.

According to information received from the spot, when Kehar Singh gave poisonous medicine to his two children Prabhjot and Ekam, Prabhjot screamed out on the road, after people came to know about the incident. All three were referred to DMC Ludhiana. All three died during treatment there. SSP Sandeep Garg said that the police is investigating the case. The bodies of the three have been sent to the hospital for postmortem.
