Ranchi: Police of Jagannathpur police station on Monday seized the body of a one-and-a-half-year-old girl Adya from Dhurwa Dam. The girl's body was floating in the dam water. In the morning, locals noticed the body. On the information of locals, a team of Jagannathpur police reached the spot and seized the body of the girl from the dam. Police took the body into custody and sent it to RIMS for post-mortem. According to the police, the criminal Amit stood in the dam till Adya drowned.

The same criminal Amit tried his best to hoodwink his wife and the police. On Saturday, when his wife informed him about Adya's disappearance, he went straight to his wife and took her to Jagannathpur police station. He informed the police about the incident. After that, he left the police station with his wife and reached the quarter. He hired an e-rickshaw on Saturday to look for the girl, Adya. In it, he roamed with his wife in Jagannathpur and Dhurva areas. He was also appealing to find the girl by speaking through loudspeakers. Till late Saturday night, the husband and wife searched for the girl.

In the same interrogation, the police received information that there was a rift in the relationship between the criminal Amit and his wife. There was a fight between the two for a long time over an illicit relationship. The criminal husband suspected that his wife Mamta had an illicit relationship with a man. The child Adya is also not his child. At the same time, the wife suspected that her husband had an illicit relationship with a girl. The quarrel between the two increased so much that they wanted to divorce each other. But the culprit Amit felt that the child could become an obstacle in their divorce, due to which he removed the child from the way. During interrogation, the criminal also told the police that he could not raise someone else child. Jagannathpur police station in-charge Arvind Singh said preparations were being made to send the culprit to jail.
