Chatra: A violent clash broke out between police and villagers in Jharkhand's Chatra district. During this time 6 policemen have been injured. A villager was also injured. The tension is so much that police of half a dozen police stations and central reserve police force soldiers had to be deployed at the spot. The injured persons are being treated at Chatra Sadar Hospital. The incident took place near the Heru bridge at Police Lines-Nawadih under the Chatra district. In fact, a pickup vehicle hit the motorcycle rider here. Pappu Kumar, 28, a resident of Dahuri village in the district, died in the accident and 2 people are injured.
It is being said that after the road accident, the people of the village had taken the pickup van driver hostage. The police reached the spot and sent the body of Pappu Kumar, who died in the accident, for postmortem. According to the news received, when ASI Shashikant Thakur started taking the driver of the pickup van with him, the people of the village got angry. They surrounded ASI and beat them up. They even tore their clothes. When the police used sticks to control the angry mob, the villagers pelted stones. Half a dozen policemen were injured.
On receiving the same news, a backup team was sent which rescued ASI from the clutches of the villagers and admitted him to the hospital. The driver of the pickup van was also injured in the incident. A villager was also injured in the incident. A vehicle of the policemen was also damaged. Police have registered a case against unidentified persons. Here, the villagers sat on the road demanding compensation to the dependents of the deceased Pappu, who lost his life in the road accident. Blocked the road. Senior officials who reached the spot were busy convincing the people but the people of the village remained adamant about the demand for compensation.
