Kochi: Abu Ashkar Ali, a Muslim child who had indulged in violence and provocative slogans during a rally of radical Islamic organisation Popular Front of India (PFI) in Kerala, has been arrested by the police from his house in Pallurathi, Kochi. He will now be handed over to the Alappuzha police as there is a case registered against him. The child's father says that he is not a member of the PFI, but has been attending his programs.

According to media reports, ACP Of Pattaanjali Ravindranath has confirmed that the father is an active member of the PFI of the child who raised slogans against Hindus. Ashkar Ali says that whatever slogans the child had raised is all normal. It claims that such slogans were also raised during the anti-CAA protests. However, he denies that these slogans were raised against The Hindus. Earlier on Friday, the Kerala Police had said that they have also arrested 18 others in connection with the provocative sloganeering case. This has increased the number of people arrested to 20.

On Saturday (May 21, 2022), a rally organised by the Popular Front of India (PFI), a Muslim group, in Alappuzha, Kerala, was threatened by a Muslim minor child who threatened Hindus and Christians. In it, he said, "Keep the rice ready." Yama (the god of death) will come to your house. If you live respectfully, you can stay in our place. If not, we don't know what will happen. Objecting to the incident, the Kerala High Court had observed, "What is happening in this country?" Justice P V Kunhikrishnan had said that if any member of the rally had raised provocative slogans, the people who organised the rally were also responsible for it.''
