Chandigarh: A heartbreaking case of animal cruelty has come to light in Sirsa district of Haryana. Here someone put explosives in the mouth of a person's cow. While eating it exploded and the jaw of the cow flew off. After this the cow died in agony. Police has registered a case in this regard. The case is of Lakhuana village under Sirsa. The resident of this place, Satpal Singh had kept a cow of Sahiwal breed.
Taking him, he went to feed fodder near Beaswala bridge on Thursday (26 May 2022). During this, someone put the cow in the fodder and fed it with explosives. This was followed by a loud explosion. When he went towards the cow, he saw that the rags on his face were blown off and he was lying on the ground in agony. Seeing the condition of the cow, Satpal Singh panicked and quickly arranged a vehicle and took the cow to the animal hospital. However, the cow succumbed during the treatment. Police station Dabwali Sadar reached the spot as soon as the information about the death of cow due to explosives was received. After this the police took a sample of the explosive from the spot. During this the accused could not be traced.
Police station in-charge Devilal has informed that on the complaint of Satpal Singh, a case has been registered against the unknown person under various sections of the IPC along with the cow protection act. He said that investigation is on and the accused will be arrested soon. Sahiwal is believed to be a milch breed cow which gives about 20-25 liters of milk daily. Its price ranges from 50 thousand to one lakh rupees. Due to heat tolerance and giving more milk, this breed of cow is reared extensively in different areas of the country including Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab.
