Ahmedabad: A surprising case has come to light from Nadiad district of Gujarat. Tired of being harassed by a Muslim youth who molested her on the way here, a Hindu girl has committed suicide. In this case, the police has arrested the accused Abdullah Momin. According to media reports, the 22-year-old deceased was studying nursing and her father is posted in the police. It is alleged that Abdullah was blackmailing the deceased. In fact, after the funeral of the deceased, when her phone was examined, some shocking evidence was found in it. At present, the police is probing the matter from all angles.
As per reports, the case is of Dakor area, where the deceased lived with her family. Her father was posted at Dakor police station. The girl had graduated from Dinsha Patel College in Nadiad and was now pursuing nursing. On May 10, 2023, the girl's family had gone to a marriage ceremony in some relative. During this, the girl had an exam, so she stayed at home. After 2 days on May 12, 2023, when the girl's mother called her daughter, her mobile was found switched off. After the daughter's phone was switched off, her mother called the neighbor and asked her to go and inquire about her condition.
When the neighbor reached the house of the deceased and when there was no response from inside even after knocking on the door several times, the door was finally broken open. The dead body of the girl was lying in the house. After this he informed the family members of the girl. On getting the information, the family members of the girl immediately returned to Dakor. From here the dead body was taken to her hometown. The last rites of the girl were performed here on May 18 after completing all the legal proceedings.
After the last rites, on May 18, 2023, when the family members of the deceased saw her phone, they came to know about the blackmailing of Abdullah Momin. Several call recordings and messages were present in the phone of the deceased, from which Abdullah's handiwork came to be known. It is alleged that Abdullah was also threatening the girl. Troubled by these threats, the girl finally ended her life. Investigation revealed that the girl was earlier in a relationship with Abdullah. But, after some time after knowing the truth of Abdullah, she started distancing herself from him. That's why Abdullah started blackmailing her.
It is being told that Abdullah Momin not only used to threaten the deceased over the phone, but was also harassing her while going to and from college. The victim pleaded with Abdullah several times to stay away, but Abdullah did not agree. He continued to harass the deceased. It has also been revealed from the call recording that Abdullah had also threatened to defame the girl in the entire society and 'destroy' her by accusing her of having an affair with someone else. Even in the last call recording before death, the deceased told Abdullah Momin loudly that 'you killed me'. However, these screams had no effect on Abdullah.
Finally, exhausted, the girl ended her life by hanging herself. After death, she has left all the evidence in her mobile. The police have registered a case against Abdullah Momin under sections of abetment to suicide. After arresting him, the police has taken custodial remand for 2 days for further questioning. Further investigation is going on in the matter.
