Darbhanga: A trainee sub-inspector posted at Lalit Narayan Mithila University police station in Darbhanga district of Bihar committed suicide by shooting herself with her own service revolver. At present, the reasons for the suicide are not yet known. The incident is said to have happened after 12 o'clock in the night. A police officer said that the trainee sub-inspector Lakshmi Kumari came to her residence at around 10.30 pm after finishing her duty in the night. It was said that she lived with another female trainee sub-inspector, who was on duty at the police station at the time of the incident.
Satyaprakash, in charge of the same university police station, said on Friday that Lakshmi Kumari shot herself with her service revolver in her house and commit suicide. He said the cause of the death is yet to be ascertained. Police are searching for the entire incident.
Lakshmi was a native of Supaul district and was elected in 2018 for the post of sub-inspector. Lakshmi was posted at the university police station on September 14 this year. Darbhanga City Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Prasad said that police have started investigating the case. He said the woman shot herself with her right hand as the service revolver is still lying in the same hand. However, he also said that apart from suicide, the incident is also being investigated from another angle. The family members of the deceased have been informed.
