Ranchi: The sudden firing in the area considered to be the safest in Morhabadi of Ranchi in Jharkhand has created panic in the entire area, with one death and two persons injured in open firing in this high-security area. The area is home to JMM supremo Shibu Soren. One person in the car was killed while two others were injured in indiscriminate firing by the culprits in the same area at 2.30 pm on Thursday.

The name of the person killed in the firing is said to be Kalu Lama, who is a history-sheeter in the police file. The incident took place just 50 metres away from the residence of JMM supremo and former CM Shibu Soren, a very congested and high-security area. The names of those injured in the firing are Raju Lama and Babban Vishwakarma. Raju Lama is said to be the brother of Kalu Lama who was killed in the firing. Police said the three men were riding in a car when three persons on a scooty suddenly opened fire at them. All three injured persons were admitted to RIMS in critical condition, where Kalu Lama died. Police rushed to the spot immediately after the incident. Efforts are being made to nab the culprits.

Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased, talking to reporters in RIMS, alleged that Kalu was killed at the behest of the police. Among those who opened fire on them is the son of a robber. On the other hand, police say that Kalu Lama has been involved in many criminal incidents. He was also jailed several times. The incident may be the result of a mutual rivalry between criminal gangs. The case is under investigation. The culprits will be arrested soon.
