Sarah Booth, head of women's competitions at FIFA, a worldwide football organization, said that hosting the UNDER-17 Women's World Cup in India in 2021 is going to positively impact the image of the sport among girls in the country.
At the online summit organized on Monday by Delhi Football, which conducts football in Delhi, Booth said that Delhi is going to feel the 'positive impact' of hosting the World Cup. He praised the collaborative effort of the state associated with the National Federation for the change in infrastructure for the development of women's sports. India is going to host the men's UNDER-17 World Cup in 2017. On this occasion, Indian player Dalima Chhibber told that women's football is going to be uplifted only through 'better culture'. She told things are looking much better than before.
Dalima said, "We need to develop the culture of girl football at the club and school-college level. The participation of girls in football has increased considerably in Delhi in the last few years. More girls soccer competitions were encouraged with new competitions. When I started playing football, there was no such situation in Delhi". Affected by the Golden League victory in Delhi, Sara Pilot of AIFF said "It is important to adopt football Delhi's activism to other state associations, to pay more attention to things."
