New Delhi: In the latest rankings of FIH, the Indian men's team has retained the fifth position while the women's team has reached the ninth position. The women's team has gained one place. A new rank has been released after the end of the Oceana Cup. Australia's victory in the Oceania Cup has not changed at the top. Australia has maintained an edge over second-placed Belgium but has been reduced to just two points. Australia has 2350 points.
Bronze medalist winner of the European Championship, Netherlands (2155) is in third place while Argentina is in fourth place with 1988 points. India retained the fifth position with 1823 points while Germany stood at sixth position with 1770 points. England have 1679 points and are in seventh place. The European Championship silver medal Spain (1510) has gained one place to eighth while New Zealand (1459) has slipped one place to ninth. Canada is ranked 10th with 1325 points.
In the women's rankings, Netherlands is on top, while Australia is in second place. Argentina is at number three. Indian women's team has gained one place to ninth position. Australia beat New Zealand 1–0 in the Oceana Cup and qualified for fellow Tokyo Olympics. New Zealand occupy the sixth place in the ranking.
