At the same time, now Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while targeting the interim president of the Congress, Sonia Gandhi said that she is shedding crocodile tears for the students. He stressed that the protests taking place across the country cannot derail the economic agenda. The Finance Minister has made this remark amid protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act in the last few days in several universities of the country.
She has said that he does not know what happened in Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi on Sunday night. He slammed the Congress for supporting the groups performing at the university. She said that these demonstrations are showing Naxalite or separatist attitude. Sitharaman said that the party which had helped in the independence of India does not have an agenda of nation building and that only has been reduced to one family.
