Chris Lynn, an Australian T20 specialist batter, has urged supporters to continue supporting Aaron Finch as he captains the home country in the ICC T20 World Cup, claiming the entire team and team management are behind the seasoned opener.

When Australia defeated Ireland by 42 runs on Monday in a Super 12 Group 1 game at Brisbane, Finch's extended streak of dismal performances came to an end. However, the 35-year-old captain also suffered a hamstring issue that will require scans.
Despite the captain's conservative batting strategy, Lynn thinks his performance against Ireland was crucial for Australia's World Cup chances.

Lynn remarked on SEN WA Breakfast on Tuesday that "obviously a lot of people have their thoughts on his form, the old Aaron Finch normally scores a little bit quicker than what he did last night, but you've got to start somewhere."

"If Australia advances to the final, he hits a rapid 50 or 100, then the last six to ten months' worth of talk won't matter a whit." Let's only hope he can maintain his recent form of 50 or... last night, 66 (63 not out). He understands his game, the boys, and everyone are behind him. Despite Finch's injury concern, Lynn is convinced that Australia has enough depth to handle any potential Finch absence.

Josh Inglis would have been a no-brainer, but now that he's not on the team, Cameron Green is the clear choice, the player stated. "I think the beauty of the Australian line-up is that guys like Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, they've opened the batting before so if they want to bring guys in, they've got the ability to bring them into the middle order as well, so there are plenty of options there," said Smith. "There might another injury or two. So I think Steve Smith is another obvious candidate to come in. But they've got options." At the Adelaide Oval on Friday, Australia will play Afghanistan.
