Hyderabad (Telangana): With 397 new cases of Covid-19 in the state, the number of infected people has crossed 2.85 lakh. At the same time, the death toll from the infection rose to 1,535 with two more deaths. Actor Ram Charan was also among those infected. He requested that those who have been in contact with him for the past few days investigate Covid-19. The actor tweeted, "I'm infected with the corona virus. There are no signs of infection. I'm home alone. I hope to get well soon and come back."
The cases were reported till 8 pm on December 28 in the Health Bulletin released by the state government on Tuesday. According to the bulletin, a maximum of 92 cases were reported in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area. This is followed by 37 cases from Medical Malkajgiri and 28 cases from Rangareddy. The bulletin states that 2,77,931 people in the state have become infected so far. 5,999 patients are being treated for the infection.
So far over 67.93 lakh samples have been tested. According to the bulletin, about 1.82 lakh samples per million population were tested. The Covid-19 mortality rate in the state is 0.53 per cent, while nationally it is 1.4 per cent. In Telangana, the infection recovery rate is 97.36 per cent, while the national rate is 95.9 per cent.
