Kolkata: The CBI has registered a case against Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader SK Supian in five cases of violence that broke out after the assembly elections in West Bengal. Let us inform that Supian had been the election agent of TMC supremo and CM Mamata Banerjee in the Nandigram assembly elections of East Midnapore district in April, 2021. According to the FIR, the charges include assault, attempt to murder and attempt to rape a village woman.

After being questioned twice by the CBI in recent months, Supiyan had moved the apex court seeking relief from arrest. The court on Wednesday accepted his anticipatory bail plea. Let us tell you that Mamata Banerjee had lost the election in Nandigram seat to her ally turned rival BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari. She had to be re-elected in a by-election in Bhawanipur, South Kolkata, to remain as CM Mamta. Let us inform that Suvendu had won from Nandigram in 2016, he was a cabinet minister in TMC until joining BJP in December 2020.

Supiyan further said that all the allegations are fabricated and the mastermind behind them is Suvendu Adhikari. He said that, 'As the Vice President of Zilla Parishad, I have to go with 'Y' category security cover. Is it possible for me to commit such crimes? Suvendu Adhikari has filed false complaints from the people. We will fight it in court.
