New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Saturday (October 29) registered an FIR against the propaganda media portal 'The Wire.' The FIR was registered on a complaint by BJP's IT-cell chief Amit Malviya. He pointed out in his complaint that the web portal had created "forged documents" to tarnish his reputation. The FIR names The Wire, its founder Siddharth Varadarajan, its founding editors Siddharth Bhatia and MK Venu and its deputy editor and executive news producer Jahnavi Sen.

According to the report, this FIR has been registered under sections 420, 468, 469, 471, and 500 R/W. Section 120B and Section 34 of the IPC have also been included in the FIR. A day earlier, Amit Malviya had issued a statement saying he would file criminal and civil cases against The Wire. Let me tell you that the Left web portal published a report, in which it claimed that Amit Malviya is so powerful that if he does not like a post on Facebook or Instagram, he could get it removed immediately. However, Meta's head of communications, Andy Stone, called the whole news fake. He had said that 'The Wire' has made this report on the basis of fake papers. Based on an unnamed source, The Wire claimed that Amit Malviya had removed 705 posts from social media. However, after a lot of embarrassment, 'The Wire' has deleted the story from the website.

The left-wing website removed its founding editor Siddharth Varadarajan's Bilan story after domain experts and independent researchers rejected its story. Along with this, he also told that perhaps fake papers have been used to fabricate this story. It was only after such a claim by experts that the Wire removed the story from its platform and indirectly accepted how wrong their story on Meta was by saying internal review.
