Sivakasi, In a tragic incident, a sulphur mixed wicks used in fireworks and illegally stored in the house caught fire in which two young girls were died.

"The girls, aged four and eight, were sleeping in the house at Duraisamypuram when the fire triggered by an electrical short circuit enveloped them, causing serious burn injuries", said police.

Girls were rushed to a hospital but died without responding to treatment.

As without proper permission, the wicks were manually made in the house of one Muniasamy and stored.

An investigation is underway on the case, said police.
