Panipat: A man was arrested by Howrah GRP on Thursday for coming to Kolkata to hide after raping and killing a 7-year-old girl on kali puja day in Haryana's Panipat. GRP sources said the culprit, Shivkumar Kalka, was coming from the mail. After receiving a piece of secret information about this, Howrah GRP swung into action and nabbed him. On the day of Kali Puja, it is necessary to sacrifice the child to become a Siddha tantric and that is why he killed the child.

Howrah GRP was told that Panipat police officers had contacted the Howrah GRP officer in this regard. After this, Howrah GRP officials took immediate action without wasting any time and started a search operation as soon as the Kalka Mail reached Bardhaman station.

After a lot of searching, the officers caught Shiv Kumar from a bogie of Kalka Mail. Then, he was brought to Howrah. After the GRP informed about it, the Panipat police team also reached here by flight. The GRP then handed over the culprit to officers from Panipat. At the same time, late on Thursday evening, the team from Panipat with the criminal left for Delhi with him by plane. From there, he will be taken to Panipat and questioned. This is not the first case of human sacrifice due to any superstition, but such cases keep coming every day. Police have arrested three criminals, including a couple, for sacrificing two women in Pathanamthitta, Kerala recently. Women were sacrificed so that money and property could come into the house. First, the women were strangled to death, then, their bodies were cut into pieces and then the bodies were brutalised.
