Flipkart, the e-commerce giant, is gearing up for a significant launch next month. The company is set to unveil its new service, 'Flipkart Minutes,' on July 15th. Under this initiative, Flipkart promises delivery within 15 minutes, offering customers access to a selection of over 10,000 products.
This service will encompass fresh produce, dairy products, groceries, electronics, household essentials, health-related items, and various daily necessities. Previously, in 2021, the company launched 'Flipkart Quick,' which guaranteed delivery within 90 minutes but did not achieve significant success.
Potential for a Major Launch Next Month
According to a report by Business Today, Flipkart plans to initially roll out this service in large cities, with eventual plans to expand it to smaller towns. This new platform aims to elevate online shopping to new heights and provide customers with even better service. Speculation has been rife since the beginning of this year that Flipkart is strategizing its move into quick-commerce. Now, it's confirmed that the company is indeed advancing in this direction.
Direct Competition Among These Platforms
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, the quick-commerce market in India has seen rapid growth. Experts suggest that by 2029, this market could reach a value of $9.95 billion (approximately ₹83,201 crore). The 'Flipkart Minutes' service will directly compete with Blinkit from Zomato, Zepto, and Instamart from Swiggy. Recently, Flipkart launched a grocery store in Jaipur capable of fulfilling over 6,500 orders daily. It's likely that the company will introduce more such facilities, further enhancing its quick-commerce offerings.
