Floods in southeast Tanzania leave 21 people dead

Tanzania:  The case of natural disasters are increasing these days. According to information received from sources, floods in the lindi region of southeastern Tanzania have killed 21 people. The media reported that 500 more people are stranded in Kilwa Kisiwani County, waiting for them to reach their safe place. Tanzanian army has been deployed in flood affected areas. The army along with local authorities is helping the flood victims. Humanitarian assistance is being provided to the areas affected by helicopters and aircraft.

According to some media reports, 13 people have died and 15,000 people have become homeless in the Lindy area due to floods. It is also being said that Tanzania Mwanchi newspaper reported that due to heavy rains started last week, the water level of the local rivers has crossed the danger mark. Due to this, flood situation has arisen.
