New Delhi:  Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, will introduce the Finance Bill 2023 today, March 24, to put the federal government's financial plans into action.

This occurs the day after the grant request was approved by Parliament.

The central government's proposed budgetary changes for the fiscal years 2023–2024 are made official by the Finance Bill 2023.

The Lok Sabha had already approved requests for grants on Thursday, approving almost Rs 45 lakh crore in spending year 2023–2024. Despite protests from opposition members over their demand for a JPC investigation into the Adani issue, the motion was approved by voice vote.

After two earlier adjournments, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla requested the Guillotine when the House reconvened at 6 p.m.

The Bill to Authorize Payment and Appropriation of Certain Sums from and Out of the Consolidated Fund of India for the Services of the Financial Year 2023–24 was moved for House passage amidst a commotion by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The House later adjourned for the day after it was passed amid the commotion.

Due to the ongoing gridlock, the two Houses of Parliament have been adjourned numerous times. As the BJP has been pressing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to retract his comments made in the UK, the opposition has been calling for a Joint Parliamentary Committee investigation into the Hindenburg-Adani controversy.

The budget session's second half started on March 13 and will start on April 6.
