The 2021 Force Gurkha 4X4 off-road SUV was formally launched today, with a revised appearance including several modern creature comforts and amenities to make it appear and feel more premium. The Mahindra Thar competitor is likely to debut in India around the festive season.

The new Gurkha, now in its second generation, has a length of 4,116mm, a breadth of 1,812mm, and a width of 2,075mm, with a wheelbase of 2,400mm. Force Motor has given the Gurkha enough of a facelift to compete with its only competition, Mahindra's Thar, which has been converted into more of a leisure vehicle than a true off-roader. The circular LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs get Force Gurkha badging, as well as the redesigned grille where the Gurkha lettering is pretty bold and can't be missed.

Black-cladded front and rear bumpers, as well as massively flared wheel arches that hold 16-inch steel wheels, black ORVMs and snorkel, and a blacked-out roof rail with a useful rack to carry goods or even install a tent for Overlanding adventures, contribute to the new Gurkha's rugged appearance. There are also two hooks on the front and back of the vehicle. The new Gurkha's turn indicators are now mounted on the front fenders. There are also vertically positioned taillights and an LED stop lamp on the SUV.

The 2021 Gurkha will be available in five colour choices: Red, Green, White, Orange, and Grey. More than the exterior, Force Gurkha has undergone a more massive change on the inside. The all-new interior with a black theme now has a more premium feel about it with captain seats at the rear with arm-rests instead of bench seats. There is a new seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets a semi-digital instrument cluster with dials to indicate speed and rpm.

The steering wheel of the new Gurkha has also been upgraded to a three-spoke unit which can be adjusted for rake and reach. There are moulded floor mats for low NVH levels and also for the ease of cleaning when the vehicle gets dirty after an off-road session. For more creature comfort, Force has added power windows and cup holders as well.
