Forest task force arrests 3 smugglers with 28 rare parakeets

Indore: Smugglers Stole 28 Parakeet Parrots from Dewas Sanctuary, Indore. About 28 parakeet parrots of rare species were seized from the smugglers by the Indore team of the Special Task Force (Forest). The parrots were trapped and set to be sold for five lakh rupees. During interrogation, the smugglers confessed to stealing the parrots from Kheoni sanctuary in Dewas, and the deal for selling parrots was made in Bhopal. The forest team caught the smugglers and handed them to the Ashta Forest Department, and they were sent to jail.

The Special Task Force (STF) Bhopal headquarters received information regarding the smuggling of parakeet parrots and assigned the Indore team for action. Two forest workers and Ashta forest department including STF ranger gathered information and went to deal with smugglers as customers. The team reached Ashta on Friday and approached the smuggler Wajid Sabir (28). It was decided to buy two parrots for Rs 50,000. Other two smugglers Shawan Razzaq and Nazir Arif brought three cages with 28 trapped parrots. The smugglers confessed that it took them 7 days to trap 28 parrots with the help of nets. Ashta Forest Department presented the accused in court and sent them to jail.
