New Delhi: Former Chief Election Commissioner TN Seshan died on Sunday at the age of 86. Seshan breathed his last in Chennai. He was the 10th Chief Election Commissioner of India. He served in this post from 12 December 1990 to 11 December 1996. TN Seshan's full name was Tirunellai Narayan Iyer Seshan. TN Seshan was born on 15 December 1932 in Palakkad district of Kerala.

TN Seshan was also awarded the Magsaysay Award in 1996. TN Seshan, a 1955 batch IAS officer, held several government posts, ranging from the Secretary of Defense to Cabinet Secretary.
