Chandigarh: A veteran Congress leader, Kuldeep Bishnoi, has finally taken over the reins of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On Thursday, he joined the party. On Wednesday itself, Bishnoi resigned as Adampur MLA. Interestingly, Congress had expelled him in June itself, as he had cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha elections and voted for NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu.

Now Kuldeep Bishnoi has joined the BJP after stepping down as MLA. After a long period of rebellion, he decided to leave the party. He had rebelled for not considering his name as state president during the recent reshuffle in Congress. It is reported that his son Bhavya Bishnoi is likely to contest on a BJP ticket in the upcoming by-election to the Adampur assembly seat.

At the same time, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar welcomed him to the party at the BJP headquarters. He said Bishnoi's arrival will strengthen the organisation. He said Bishnoi was supporting PM Narendra Modi's leadership and had supported the BJP even while in the Congress in the recent Rajya Sabha elections.
