Mumbai: MP Navneet Rana's name suddenly came up in the limelight in the Politics of Maharashtra. Independent MP Navneet Rana had given an open challenge to the then CM of the state, Uddhav Thackeray. Navneet and her MLA husband Ravi Rana were also arrested by the Maharashtra Police. But now the good days of the Rana couple are about to come. In fact, Ravi Rana may also get a ministerial berth in tomorrow's cabinet expansion. Ravi Rana has also extended his support to the government of Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis.
Independent MP from Amravati Navneet Rana and her MLA husband Ravi Rana had announced to recite Hanuman Chalisa outside 'Matoshree', the private residence of the then Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, however, the Rana couple cancelled their programme after massive protests from Shiv Sainiks. Sanjay Raut had accused Navneet Rana of working at the behest of the central government at that time. The Mumbai Police arrested both the leaders on April 23. The Mumbai Police had accused the two leaders of "creating enmity between different groups". The Mumbai Police had registered a case against MLA Ravi Rana and MP Navneet Kaur Rana at Khar police station under sections 153 (A), 34, IPC r/w 37(1) 135 of the Bombay Police Act.
The Rana family had hit back alleging that the arrest was made at the behest of the then CM Thackeray. Navneet Rana had said that the Maharashtra Chief Minister ordered Shiv Sena workers to harass us, while her husband Ravi Rana said that Uddhav Thackeray only wants political gains.
