Former Hockey captain Ritu Rani announces her retirement

As the Olympic has gone, with no success in the women’s hockey team as well. The former India Women’s hockey team captain Ritu Rani has declared her retirement from International Hockey. Adter getting hurt in her inside in the Olympic Bound squad.

She was emotionally hurt by the step by the Indian Hockey Association, after she was dropped from the Olympic Squad controversially with her “citing issues”. However she was shortlisted in the 29 probable players for the national camp which began in Sunday at Bhopal.

The hockey India president, Narinder Batra said” We got a mail from ritu Rani 2-3 days back where she stating that she will not be able to join the national camp as she’s retiring from international Hockey.”

Under her captaincy the team won the bronze medal at the 2014 Incheon Asian games and a silver medal in the 2013 Asian champions trophy.
