Ranchi: Former Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee President and former MP Dr Ajay Kumar has recently expressed apprehension of privatisation of the coal industry and has written to Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The letter requests the Chief Minister and said, "There is no coal crisis in the country. The crisis has been created by the BJP government at the Centre to privatise coal.''

Dr Ajay himself has given this information. He tweeted from his Twitter handle and said that he has said in his letter, "The BJP government at the Centre can take steps to privatise the coal industry. This will adversely affect Jharkhand as Jharkhand is the largest producer of coal.'' At the same time, he added, "Privatisation of coal industry will lead to increase in pollution in the state, deforestation, exploitation of poor tribals, mismanagement of mines on behalf of private companies and increase in coal prices.''
In his letter, he has requested the Chief Minister to write, "The Government should oppose privatisation of the coal industry. Our move will protect natural resources from going into private hands and protect the interests of tribals.''
