Bhopal: Kamal Nath reached the PCC office with Deepak Joshi, son of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kailash Joshi and former minister. Kamal Nath got Congress membership to Deepak Joshi. During this, many Congress leaders including Sajjan Singh Verma were present. Deepak Joshi's supporters also reached Bhopal in large numbers. Former MLA of Bharatiya Janata Party Radhelal Baghel was also present.

During this, Deepak Joshi had taken in his hand the picture of father and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kailash Joshi. He joined the Congress with his father's picture in his hand. Before the assembly elections, the politics of defection has intensified in Madhya Pradesh. This is the first time when a long line of people going from Bharatiya Janata Party to Congress is visible.

Before joining Congress, former minister Deepak Joshi said that he is joining Congress unconditionally. He has not even demanded a ticket from the Congress. Significantly, the Bharatiya Janata Party will now field Manoj Chaudhary from the Hatpipliya assembly seat where Deepak Joshi was the candidate. Deepak Joshi was seeing his political future in danger ever since Manoj Chaudhary, a Scindia supporter, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Former minister Deepak Joshi said that he is joining Congress only for respect.
