Former Telangana Minister Etela Rajender is scheduled to resign today. According to information furnished by his office, the state assembly speaker is about to resign as an MLA in the office. It has been learnt that he has been dismissed from the State Cabinet last month following an allegation of land encroachment.

It may be recalled that a few days ago, Etela Rajender and some other local leaders had resigned to the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS). Meanwhile, he had said that the democratic process in the party is over and he is resigning after 19 years of working in the party.

According to media reports, Rajender is in touch with top BJP leaders. He had met top leaders in the national capital recently. Rajender is one of the few senior leaders who has been with TRS since the party was formed two decades ago. He alleged that no minister in the KCR's cabinet can take an independent decision, everything is under the control of the CM. Rajender said many leaders are ready to leave the party.
