Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived at the College Ground in Midnapore to address a public meeting during his two-day visit to Bengal today. TMC leader Suvendu Adhikari joined the BJP in the presence of Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah. He recently resigned from all the posts of Trinamool Congress. TMC MP Sunil Mandal was also present during Amit Shah's address.

Earlier, Amit Shah greeted Swami Vivekananda at his birthplace in North Kolkata on Saturday morning. Here Amit Shah said that at an early age, Swamiji had done the work of making the knowledge of India, the culture of India glorious around the world. When the all-religion conference took place in America at that time, Swamiji had introduced the world interpretation of Sanatana Dharma to the whole world with his one sentence.

Shah said that it is a matter of good fortune that I have come to the place which is a place to create consciousness for not only India but the whole world. This is the place where Swami Vivekananda, the brightest star of India's Gange's sky was born. He said that the ideals of the 19th century great men are even more relevant in today's world. Amit Shah, who arrived on a two-day tour of West Bengal, paid homage to Swami Vivekananda and praised him for bringing India's culture and values to the world.
