New Delhi:- The FIA ​​Formula 2 Championship has announced its calendar for the 2024 season, with 14 venues listed including a first visit to the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar. The 2024 calendar spans 13 countries and three continents, ready to welcome 22 drivers from 11 teams to battle for the coveted title.

Besides the 2024 Formula 1 calendar as the main support series, the 2024 F2 season will kick off in Bahrain from February 29 to March 2. The visit to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in Saudi Arabia comes a week later, before returning to visit Albert Park in Melbourne (March 22-24), following the Australian round's F2 debut in 2023.

As the European leg of the F1 season begins, so does F2, with Imola hosting the fourth round from May 17-19 followed by Monte-Carlo from May 23-26. When F1 arrives in Montreal, F2 will take a break, before returning to work within the framework of the Grand Prix support package with rounds in Barcelona (June 21-23), Spielberg (June 28-30), Silverstone (June 5). -7/7), Budapest (July 19-21) and Spa-Francorchamps (July 26-28) before the start of summer vacation.

While in 2023 F2 will return with F1 at Zandvoort, in 2024 the Dutch circuit will be skipped and F2 will return to competition after the summer break at Monza (30 August to 1 September). ). Fifteen days after the round in Italy, F2 will head to the wild streets of Baku, with the Irish event now taking place in autumn (September 13-15).

After the F2 season ends in Baku, the series of exciting matches will have to wait until the end of November to have the 13th round of the 2024 season.

The wait will end from November 29 to December 1 with the first visit of the F2 championship to the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar. The F2 2024 season will then conclude with the fourteenth round in Abu Dhabi, around the Yas Marina circuit from December 6 to 8.

F1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said this when announcing the F2 2024 calendar; "It's fantastic to announce such an exciting F2 calendar for 2024, continuing the 24-race calendar we announced for Formula 1 a few weeks ago.

Finally, Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel had a say on the announcement, citing the importance of a more balanced schedule, competition among promoters to organize championships and control. budget control of teams.

“I am delighted to announce that there will be 14 laps and 28 races on the Formula 2 calendar in 2024,” he said. "Next year we will race in Qatar, a very exciting new venue. “The final leg of the season will see Baku, Qatar and Abu Dhabi following the race weekend at Monza, making the 2024 calendar more balanced.
