Washington: Four Indian-origin individuals were arrested in Princeton, Texas, in connection with a human trafficking case on Monday. The Princeton Police arrested Chandan Dasireddy, 24, Santhosh Katkoori, 31, Dwaraka Gunda, 31, and Anil Male, 37. They are accused of operating a 'forced labour' scheme in Colin County, Princeton.

The arrests followed the discovery of around 15 women living in deplorable conditions, sleeping on the floor of a single house. The investigation began after the Princeton Police department received a complaint about a possible human trafficking operation at a house on Ginsburg Lane in Colin County. The complaint, lodged by a pest control department in March, triggered the probe.

According to report, the pest control inspector, summoned to the house in March, reported seeing around 15 women sleeping on the floors of each room. He also noted the presence of "large amounts of suitcases." The Princeton Police department found numerous computer electronics and blankets inside the house where the alleged human trafficking was taking place, but no furniture.

The 15 women rescued from the house claimed they were forced to work for several shell companies owned by Katkoori and his wife, Dwaraka Gunda. Princeton Police also stated that other individuals, both men and women, were victims of forced labour, working as programmers for the shell companies. Further investigations revealed that multiple locations in Princeton, Melissa, and McKinney were involved in the case. Authorities seized several items, including laptops and phones, from these locations.
