Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has announced the launch of four innovative online postgraduate programs, marking a significant departure from traditional admissions criteria. The institution has made the bold move of eliminating the requirement for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) scores for admission to these programs.
The newly introduced programs cover a diverse range of fields, including Climate Finance and Sustainability, Renewable Energy and e-Mobility, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Business Leadership in the Digital Age. These programs are designed to meet the evolving demands of today's job market and offer a flexible completion timeframe, ranging from one to three years.
What sets these programs apart is their unique structure, featuring live interactive classes conducted exclusively on weekends, allowing professionals with busy schedules to upskill themselves at their own pace. The curriculum for each program consists of 60 credits spread across 12 modules, carefully crafted to align with industry requirements.
One notable feature of these programs is the involvement of esteemed faculty and researchers from IIT Kanpur, who will lead the educational journey and provide real-world insights. Moreover, participants have the opportunity to leverage a credit transfer feature, which could potentially waive up to 60 credits for future higher education pursuits such as MTech or PhD programs at IIT Kanpur.
