The whole world is engaged in finding an effective drug of epidemic coronavirus. But the virus medicine has not been found yet. The consumption of four or more doses of the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine prophylaxis (HCQ) may reduce the risk of infection with coronavirus (COVID-19) in health workers. The study by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has been revealed.

The health workers treating patients of Coronavirus are very much at risk of getting infected by the virus. Therefore, an important study conducted by India's top medical research body revealed a significant reduction in the risk of health workers corona infection by the intake of six or more doses of hydroxychloroquine.

To compare the risk and protective factors of coronavirus infection among health workers in the country during this period of infection, ICMR researchers conducted a case-control investigation. The findings of the study have been published in the latest issue of the Indian Journal of Medical Research. The same was done in two groups of participants (health workers) in the study - (i) corona positive case, (ii) corona negative case. He was chosen randomly from the nationwide COVID-19 test data portal created by ICMR. A 20 brief questionnaire was prepared. From this, information about the location of work, use of PPE and procedures for use was obtained. At least 624 infected and 549 non-infected health workers were contacted. Of these, 378 infected and 373 non-infected were available for analysis.
