From engineers to digital marketers- mapping the entrepreneurial journey of Keshav Dutt and Hani Goyal

For more than two decades now, unicorns and start-ups are some of the buzzwords that have contributed to the evolving employment and business culture across the world. While there are some ventures which turned into billion-dollar valuation companies, there are others that could not survive. With the expansion of this culture, establishing the identity of a brand or organization with its unique USP becomes extremely important to stand above the competitors. From this pool, two emerging entrepreneurs who have made a mark in the digital marketing industry are Keshav Dutt and Hani Goyal, the founders of My Media Dreams, a growing digital marketing agency based in Delhi. My Media Dreams is a turnkey digital advertising solutions firm that has carved a niche as a renowned company with its immense experience and skills while building the brand through bootstrapped funding. With a focussed approach and professional experts specializing in online marketing strategies, My Media Dreams resolves the complex business problems of their clients.

The company is a brainchild of Keshav Dutt who completed his post-graduation in Engineering from MDU, Rohtak in 2012 and started his academic career as an Assistant Professor. A sense of disillusionment towards the education system led him to explore his love and interest in the digital space and make a shift to the software industry to understand the functionalities of the sector. Developing his skills in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Website Promotion, Technical Support, Google Adwords, he realized the discontinuities of internet marketing services and envisioned starting his venture to help small businesses scale up. For Keshav, ‘creativity lies in the art of being able to differentiate oneself from others and hence provides a competitive edge to establish a distinct identity’.  As he met his business partner for the venture, Hani Goyal in 2019, his vision started to take shape.

Hani Goyal is an engineer turned lawyer who decided to become a full-time entrepreneur as he came on board with Keshav. Currently heading the company as the CTO, his background in law helped him understand the legalities of starting a business venture. After having completed his Engineering from Jalandhar, Hani started working with some of the leading software companies like HCL, Microsoft as a research engineer. However, he couldn’t connect with a 9-6 job and decided to explore his interest in technology and software in a more in-depth way. After his encounter with Keshav, the two registered the company in 2019.

Hani believes that ‘since the digital marketing industry is growing 10 times more than traditional marketing when a digital marketer promotes a business online it is his job to give his all to create a demand for the product or service of the client. It is not enough to know the tricks of the trade but be able to utilize it practically and create a rightful impact’. Focussing on expansion and business development, both Keshav and Hani started tapping their experience of working in the software industry and reached out to clients in the international market, especially the US. Their aggressiveness and passion to create customized marketing solutions cost-effectively enabled them to land clients in the NUTRA industry one after the other. The team which started with just Hani and Keshav expanded to 30 employees and has worked with over 70+ clients both in India as well as in the US. As a short-term vision for the next 3 years, My Media Dreams is planning to launch its in-house SaaS products to strengthen the marketing plans of the affiliate industries which they believe will help in creating cost-effective strategies and offer an edge to the organization with a steady flow of passive income in the long run. In terms of its long-term vision, Keshav and Hani are continuously striving to expand their business offices internationally, especially in the US and UK.

A goal-oriented focus on skill development and practical knowledge than formal degrees helped both Keshav and Hani build an extensive portfolio of services such as Lead Generation, Content Marketing, Influencer Marketing, Web Development, Affiliate Marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social Media Marketing (SMM), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Online Reputation Management (ORM) and Organic Social Outreach.
